Balalaiker 6S is a special series of balalaika with double strings. This kind of balalaika became extremely popular in the late XIX - early XX century and spread both in Russia and abroad. Six-string intruments were produced by private craftsmen, village artels and large factories. Until now, some foreign manufacturers produce such balalaikas. In our latitudes, the six-string model was produced at the P. Postyshev Chernihiv Music Factory (until the second half of the 1990s). Balalaiker restarted the production of the famous six-string balalaika based on the Balalaiker Sputnik model.

The body is made of five parts (maple, birch) and is connected by the historical technology "tying in the handle." Maple neck with birch fretboard. Scale is typical 16-fret size 435 mm. Machine heads are single, open type. Top is made of resonant spruce. Characteristic wooden tie on the heel of the neck. Special pear bridge. Bright and recognizable design.
