Marina Alexandrovna Glushenko has been teaching piano for more than thirty years at music schools in Leningrad and St. Petersburg.
She is also a teacher at the Music and Pedagogical Faculty of the St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts, she constantly conducts master classes and methodological seminars in various cities of Russia, as well as in music universities in Germany, Sweden, Poland, Finland, and the Baltic states.
M. A. Glushenko is the author of the textbook "Piano Book of the Young Musician" (L., 1988–1989), partially published also in English (Piano Book of the Young Musician. St. Petersburg, 1994. Book 1), and compiler a number of publications, including collections of piano etudes and Russian folk songs arranged for piano four hands.
The publication is unique in its own way: it is not another school of piano playing, but a complex intensive method of musical education. The manual is addressed to beginners and their teachers, it helps children not only to master the instrument, but also to develop their ear, learn composing, improvisation, music processing skills, transposition, ensemble playing, master the initial knowledge of music theory. It was first published in 1994 and since then has gone through several reprints, finding wide application in pedagogical practice.
