979-0-66004-542-8 Bulayeva O., Getalova O. I Learn to Improvise and Compose. Creative notebook I-III. Magic of the intervals. Mode. Melody. Harmony. Accompaniment, Compozitor Publishing House Saint-Petersburg

Creative notebooks are conceived as a single improvisation course, starting with the basics. The material is presented systematically, from simple to complex. The course is focused on ordinary children with average abilities. Even teachers who have not improvised before, but would like to learn and develop it in children, will be able to work on it. (The teacher studies with the student).
Complex theoretical material is presented in an accessible form. The manual is convenient to use, because it is both a creative notebook and a textbook containing the necessary theoretical knowledge, which is immediately fixed in practice (with an instrument).
An individual approach to the student is assumed at the discretion of the teacher.
Considering that each teacher has his own musical experience, his own vision, his own creative achievements, and each child is so individual that he always encourages new ideas, the authors did not aim to create a comprehensive guide. These creative notebooks are a guideline in the work and involve the co-creation of the teacher.
The first three notebooks cover the initial (preparatory) stage of education. It involves the improvisation of chants at various intervals, rhythmic improvisation, composing a melody in major, minor, pentatonic. The child gets acquainted with the cadence turnover and learns to select the simplest accompaniment to the melody.
