Translation from English was made by Alexander Evgenievich Maykapar. Alexander Evgenievich Maykapar is a famous Russian harpsichordist, organist and pianist, Honored Artist of Russia, author of a number of works on musicology. Along with preparing for publication a translation of R. Kirkpatrick's book, he performed in concert an anthology of Scarlatti's harpsichord sonatas, which included 200 of his 555 sonatas.
