The collection of articles and materials “The Unknown A.K. Lyadov” (author of the idea and editor-compiler T.A. Zaitseva) is dedicated to one of the classics of Russian music, a unique composer-miniaturist. This is only the second collection of articles, published almost a century after the publication of the first collective monograph "An. K. Lyadov" in 1916. A new, more authentic portrait of the artist is presented here, emphasizing his connections with the culture of the Silver Age. For the first time, special attention is paid to the study of the pedagogical method of Lyadov, who trained an entire army of musicians (composers S. Prokofiev, N. Myaskovsky, scientists B. Asafiev, A. Ossovsky, conductors N. Malko, D. Pokhitonov, pianist N. Golubovskaya, etc.). At the same time, the names of a number of Lyadov’s students were revealed, among whom was S. Rachmaninov. An appeal to archival funds made it possible to clarify the date of Lyadov’s birth and clarify individual episodes of his creative life.
The book is addressed to specialists, students and everyone interested in the culture and history of Russia.
