More than 160 years ago, Christian August Seydel established a harmonica factory in Klingenthal, Germany. C.A. SEYDEL SOHNE is the oldest harmonica factory in the world incontinuous operation. Even more remarkable, all our instruments are still hand made today in Klingenthal.
We are committed to continuing this long tradition of craftsmanship and ensure that the finished product is manufactured to the highest quality. This is proven by the easy response, resonant tone and robustness of our harmonicas. The notable and much - loved sound is achieved through precise fine-tuning and the use of specially selected materials.
SEYDEL harmonicas are produced in all standard keys and also in many special tunings. SEYDEL is the only harmonica manufacturer to offer instruments with stainless steel reeds, for example the harmonicas from the 1847 series, the tiny BIG SIX as well as the SESSION STEEL (available as a special Summer Edition for a short timeonly), the SEYDEL TREMOLO, and the chromatic models, SAXONY and DE LUXE STEEL are equipped with SEYDEL's Stainless Steel reeds, guaranteed to produce a full, rich sound with increased durability and tuning stability.
Since 2003 C.A. SEYDEL SOHNE has offered instruments in special low tunings – eight models with up to 30 keys down to double low E – which, due to our long experience, ensures they meet the requirements of each professional player.
