Mi (E) — silver-plated steel, ball at the end
La (A) — core/aluminum, 13.5 RM, ball at the end
Re (D) - vein/silver, 13.5 RM, ball at the end
Sol (G) - vein/silver, 16.5 RM, ball at the end

The length of the colored wound on the Sol (G) string's peg side differs from the length of the wound of the strings La (A) and Re (D). This is done intentionally and is part of the construction of the Sol(G) string. The special length of the wound prevents the string from breaking in the peg box. After two or three days, the string stretching process will be completed and as a result, the silk wound will not reach the bridge. Pirastro has conducted numerous tests of this special G (G) string on various violins of different sizes, and the string has always "sat down" correctly. On some instruments it may take time, on others the string "sits down" immediately.

1 RM = 0.05mm. Thus, the 16.75PM string has a diameter of 0.8375mm, and the 15.25 PM string has a diameter of 0.7625mm
