The true workhorse of our celebrated Artisan Series, the Artisan C4 Plus receives some significant feature upgrades that will satisfy long-time fans and new players alike, including the familiar rounder body shape that was only found in our premium Artisan A models, a brand new MetalCraft M bridge with versatile string loading system, and a gorgeous looking Ovangkol top in antique brown burst color for that natural classy vintage look.

Ovangkol Top on Mahogany Wings with Maple Core.
The luxurious aesthetics of Ovangkol consisting of cinnamon-brown with darker streaks of color is hard to resist. Known as a great overall tone wood, Ovangkol shares similar tone characteristics as Rosewood and Bubinga with a slightly fuller midrange and a top end that’s not quite bright sounding, but the strategically placed maple in the center makes up for the missing highs. The combination of Ovangkol top and Maple core, together with warmer sounding Mahogany wings provides a perfect mixture of balanced tone.

Bartolini MK-1 Pickups.
MK-1 pickups retain the signature sound of Bartolini providing excellent sound quality. The MK-1 delivers plenty of punchy and warm mids along with transparent and brilliant highs for a superbly balanced sound.

Markbass MB-1 Preamp.
The Markbass MB-1 electronics provide natural and transparent amplification that does not color the natural sound and resonance of the instrument's wood. Crystal purity and natural warmth create a classic feeling of passive electronics, with a smooth bottom, a rich midrange and a bell highs. The Markbass 3-band equalizer fully demonstrates the acoustic nature of the bass guitar.

MetalCraft M Bridge.
The solid, high-mass MetalCraft M bridge was developed with more focus on ease-of-use and greater tone transfer. Depending on the thickness of the strings, the dual string loading system allows the strings to be loaded either through the body or from the top to find the best optimal string tension, resulting in enhanced sustain, greater playability and focused sound. Another big improvement for the tone transfer is the deep individual slots that hold the saddles rock-tight, preventing any unwanted movement and allows string vibrations to correctly transfer to the body. MetalCraft M4 & M5 now come with string spacing of 19? (M4) and 0.750” (18?),(M5).

Canadian Hard Maple Neck.
The rigidity and strength of the Canadian Maple Neck not only provides stability, but also gives brightness and penetrating ability to the overall sound of the instrument.

Ergonomic Body Shape.
A rounder body shape is applied for the iconic unified look that the premium Artisan Series are known for, also providing much better ergonomic comfort.
