Previously existing arrangements of some ballet numbers for various instruments are designed mainly for professionally trained musicians. This arrangement was made by Olga Katargina and approved by the author. The introductory article contains brief information about the history of Shchedrin's creation of the ballet The Little Humpbacked Horse, as well as a biographical note. The presentation of the content of the ballet will help the musicians to better understand the composer's intention and express it in their performance.
