Description:
979-0-66000-153-0 Glinka M. Two Pieces for Harp (piano), Compozitor Publishing House Saint-Petersburg
Of the few works written by Glinka for the harp, this edition presents two: Variations on a theme from Mozart's opera The Magic Flute and Nocturne in E flat major.
Glinka's acquaintance with the harp took place thanks to the harp-lover, whose name remained unknown. Variations on Mozart's theme were the first work of a young composer for a harp and were intended for home performance. Nocturne was created by the author much later, when in the circle of his acquaintances appeared such outstanding harpists as the brothers Shultz and Nikolai DeWitte.
The publication is addressed to professional performers, students of conservatories, music schools and high schools.
