The correspondence of the great Russian composer P. I. Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) with N. F. von Meck (1831-1894) is a significant part of his enormous epistolary heritage. In the five volumes of Series XVII-A of the Academic Complete Works of P.I. Tchaikovsky, more than 1,200 letters are published in full, without cuts, including about two dozen previously unpublished and discovered in recent years. All letters are textually verified based on the sources identified to date.
The third volume includes all the currently known letters from both correspondents for the years 1879-1881. A significant number of letters from N. F. von Meck are published for the first time, many are reproduced in full for the first time from autographs.
The publication is addressed to professional musicians, researchers, as well as a wide range of readers.
