Description:

NBP-5 Melvin Lee Davis Bass Preamp + DI, Nux Cherub

Designed by a bassist for bassists.
To create MLD Bass Preamp & DI, Nux engineers collaborated with American bassist Melvin Lee Davis. Melvin Lee Davis is an American bassist, vocalist, keyboardist, producer, television composer and engineer living in Orange County, California. He is the music director of Grammy Award-winning Chaka Khan and has recorded with The Pointer Sisters, Lee Ritenour, Bryan Ferry, Patti Austin and Gladys Knight & the Pips."
NBP-5 bass preamp has many features based on the musical experience of Melvin Lee Davis. It also offers the best sound generation controls, such as: a 3-band equalizer with a choice of medium frequency, mixing control, cabinet simulation (pulse response loader) and built-in noise reduction with Decay and Threshold control.

Melvin Lee Davis signature pedal is:
Bass guitar preamp, DI box, pulse response loader (IR) and audio interface. Yes, everything you need for classes, concerts and recordings is in a box!

The MLD Bass Preamp + DI has fully deployable midrange frequencies in addition to bass and treble controls. Melvin L. Davis has a good command of 4, 5, 6 and 7 string basses, so the MLD Bass Preamp has a wide range of frequency control.

Volume control.
Adjusts the overall volume of the pedal. Ideal for fine-tuning the output signal on a clear tone, also controls the volume of the DI output.

Blend controller.
Regulates mixing of pure and overloaded signal. The pure signal is stored as a single gain, which allows you to accurately control the ratio of the mixture.

Drive controller.
Adjusts the amplification level and sets the saturation level in the overloaded signal.

3-band equalizer with medium frequency selector:
Low frequencies: +/- 12 dB at 40 Hz
Medium frequencies: +/- 17 dB at 160 Hz to 1000 Hz
Frequency: 160 Hz - 1000 Hz
High frequencies: +/- 12 dB at 8000 Hz

DI output.
Balanced XLR output carrying microphone level output, either affected or unaffected depending on the Pre-Post switch.

Switch GND LFT (Ground / Lift).
Disconnects the ground connection at the DI input to break any ground loops. Turn the switch to the position with less noise. It can be GND or LFT, depending on the conditions of the room, stage or studio. The switch does not affect the 1/4 inch (6.5mm) output.

Pulse response switches IR.
You can activate/deactivate IR simulation cabinets separately for DI output and 1/4 inch (6.5mm). Use the appropriate IR switch to enable/disable emulation for the selected output.
