Celestion

The work of what would become Celestion started in Hampton Wick (suburban London) in 1924. Celestion has grown to become one of the world's largest and most innovative manufacturers of loudspeakers.
The 1950s witnessed the emergence of the electric guitarist and Celestion responded to their needs for a rugged, reliable loudspeaker by modifying a standard "G12" radio speaker. The unique tonal character combined with the valve amps of the time, helped to define the electric guitar as we know it today. It was rapidly adopted by pioneers of rock & roll and popular music throughout the late 50s and early 60s. Other popular Celestion guitar loudspeakers include the Vintage 30 and the Greenback.
Responsible for the first ever dedicated guitar speaker, Celestion drivers have become the 'voice of rock & roll', delivering many of the most memorable performances by guitarists including Jimi Hendrix and Slash through to the current crop of high-octane shredders.
Innovation in LF and compression drivers places Celestion at the heart of the professional sound reinforcement industry, no surprise then that many of the world's leading guitar and bass amp manufacturers consider Celestion speakers to be an integral part of their tone. Celestion speakers are used by a variety of different amp companies including Orange, Fender, Vox, Marshall, Mesa Boogie, Engl and so on.
