Shuyskaja Garmon (Harmonica Shuya)

“Shuyskaya garmon” factory is a famous Russian enterprise in the production of Garmons and Bayans from Shuya, Ivanovo region.
The company was founded in 1935 on the basis of private garmons workshops jointed in Artel.
The factory released 417 garmons during the first year of operation.
In the 1960-ies at the Shuya garmon factory has developed and put into production new models of manual harmonics. The factory has participated in international exhibitions and fairs in Austria, Hungary, Syria, Turkey, Switzerland, Yugoslavia, Japan. Accordions were exported to Greece, Mongolia, Syria, Yugoslavia and other countries.
Today OJSC "Shuyskaya garmon"-one of the few Russian enterprises producing reed musical instruments that makes garmons and bayans with the time-honoured traditional features characteristic for "Shuya" productions: timbre, painting of enclosures with grace pictures, meshes, painted facial surfaces and inlaid.
