Pangooda Drums

Pangooda Drums workshop is located in the city of Penza and produces unique steel tongue drums, including dual- tongue models and double-sided drums with enhanced sustain and reverb effects.
All Pangooda drums are made of 2-3mm thick steel and coated with enamel to protect them from corrosion, which guarantees their “survivability” and durability. The workshop produces instruments with a diameter of 200 to 375 mm, the size of the idiophone affects not only the number of its tongues (and as a result notes), but also the overall pitch.
Double-sided drum has not playable lower tongues, but tuned in a special way, they allow you to get a special sound effect - a vibrating tremolo and increase the duration of the note.
Another interesting solution is double tongues. Parts of the tongue are adjusted with a difference of a quart and an octave, so an instrument sounds deeper and more interesting, with a ripple effect.
Pangooda drums are tuned in pentatonic. This means that any combination of notes sounds harmonious and beautiful, and that even a person far from music can play such an instrument without preliminary preparation.
