Description:

008626 Neumann TLM 102 Condenser Studio Microphone, Nickel, Sennheiser

The first thing that catches your eye is the incredibly compact size of this microphone. However, don't be fooled by the size! The TLM 102 features a large-diaphragm cardioid directivity capsule that has been specially designed for the new generation of versatile microphones. Like all microphones in the TLM series, the TLM 102 is built on a low-noise circuit and picks up sound without staining it. It is especially well suited for vocals, but its ability to handle high sound pressure makes the TLM 102 a truly versatile microphone.

The TLM 102 is designed as a versatile microphone for recording vocals and instruments. Finely tuned, it emphasizes the 8 to 12 kHz frequency range that is crucial for the human voice. Recordings take on the silky elegance of large diaphragm microphones; the voice takes on a noble presence in the general mix. Between it and, for example, an acoustic guitar, a natural, organic separation is clearly audible.

High volume? Not a problem.
The TLM 102 handles high volume and speaker jumps without distortion. This makes it an excellent choice for sounding amps and drum kits. This “baby” reproduces sound pressure levels up to 144 dB with great clarity (for example, a very loud trumpet at a distance of 10 cm): open, detailed, powerful bass and refined high frequencies.

Talking about price.
The TLM 102 is legendary sound at an unheard of price. Neumann changed the way of production and removed rarely used functions. But when you hear the TLM 102, you will immediately notice that we have not missed the most important thing: the Neumann sound.

TLM: clear sound, powerful bass.
The TLM series microphones operate with a transformerless output stage. This means clear and direct sound, very "close" to the acoustic source and powerful bass transmission down to the lowest frequencies. It also makes the microphone immune to electromagnetic fields and minimizes signal transmission loss.
