9785222054352 Musical Literature 2nd year. Development of Western music, Phoenix Publishing House

The appearance of this textbook is due to the fact that the traditional Musical Literature Program for Children's Music School was published in 1956 and, without changing qualitatively, then went through several reprints (1962, 1970, 1979, 1982). Naturally, many settings and thematic plans of the standard program are outdated and do not meet the requirements of new approaches and methods of musical education of children.
In recent years, other models of the program have begun to appear, curricula that adapt the content of the course to new historical and socio-cultural conditions, to new trends in the comprehensive aesthetic education of children. This textbook is based on many years of experience in teaching the subject "Musical Literature" in the Children's Music School, set out in the author's programs and methodological recommendations of E. Lisyanskaya, Yu. Ageeva, L. Khotuntsov. M. Kuklinskaya and others.
This manual is based on the alternation of monographic topics in accordance with the historical and artistic process. This makes it possible to identify not only the characteristic features of individual works, but also the style features of great composers, to establish the relationship between the phenomena of musical creativity. The adapted nature of the manual made it possible to add review topics on European culture of the second half of the 19th century: romantic composers F. Liszt, R. Schumann, E. Grieg, opera of the 19th century, impressionism. The genre diversity of works contributes to the expansion and deepening of previously acquired knowledge.
Considering that another task should be considered the training of active listeners and music lovers, the manual includes a large amount of introductory material addressed to the broad masses of the children's audience. Hence the heading "They tell that ..." passing through all four manuals, some of its materials are borrowed from the collection "Merry intermission; Curious stories from the life of musicians" / Comp. I. Artemchuk. - K .: Music. Ukraine, 1989 and other popular publications about music.
